Blackpool and Flyde College awarded BREEAM rating

Blackpool and the Fylde College has been awarded an excellent rating under the BREEAM environmental assessment rating scheme for buildings. The college's Central Hub has been constructed as part of a £10m development jointly funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the North West Regional Development Agency and the college. It is the first education scheme in the North West to get the accolade for both the design/procurement phase and the post construction phase. Niall Wright, director of Sale-based project management firm AA Projects, said the rating is "a first in the North West and a result of very careful planning, design and management."
